I even read War and Peace

If I could go anywhere in the world right now, I would want to go to St. Petersburg.

Russia has always fascinated me. The history is totally unique - neither Asian nor European.

And all the fur hats and vodka and Tolstoy and Rachmaninov make me think that Russians are way cooler than we give them credit for.

Think about it.

  1. Me too. I even have almost the same picture. Always thought I would end up in Russia, but ended up in Japan - which is a world apart.

  2. Very cool. When my nephew, Matt, went to Russia to teach English several years ago, he fell in love with a Russian woman. I'm ashamed to say that what I pictured him bringing home was not all that picturesque. His wife, Natasha, and I became very close (we felt we were kindred spirits on so many levels), so she was my Russian surprise. I do have several letters from Matt describing the harsh winters, when one would have to question his sanity for considering living under those conditions.

  3. Perhaps when we return to Praha we could swing through Russia?
