Hope they don't regret it

Fun fact: My blog was listed as a Recommended Expat Blog by InterNations!

You can check out my interview and profile here (the rumors are true, penises are mentioned).

For the weekend, I leave you with a little glimpse of our spring here in Málaga:

Do you think he lost a bet?

Madrid-038-Edit.jpg

After The Mister and I got back from Naples a few weeks ago, The Mister has been pestering me to write a more in-depth article about the pizza wars.  I deferred at first, saying that writing an article about how good the pizza was would only make me want to eat more of it, which I can't, so it would ultimately be a frustrating exercise. Which turned out to be a little bit true.

But I digress.

Finally The Mister won out, and I sat down and pounded out a little ditty on our single-minded dedication to finding excellent pizza in Naples.  When I finished, I sent it over to Backpacking Matt because his blog specializes in detail-oriented articles like that.  And you know what? He published it today.

Should you so desire, you can read the piece here.

As for the above photograph, I just thought you might enjoy it. It was taken yesterday afternoon at Plaza Mayor in Madrid. You are not missing any context.  It was as random and sensationally eccentric as it comes across. You'll have to forgive the shaky picture quality, as I snapped this one surreptitiously while holding the camera at my waist.

To be honest, I don't think I'm ready for that jelly.

I am always up for a good old-fashioned roundtable discussion

Cordoba Granada-096.jpg
BLACKOUT. The Mister took this picture of me at a castle in Cordoba. He says it looks slightly creepy. He is a punk on occasion.

Travel Blogs at TravelBlogs.com (I know, who would've guessed that URL? It came totally out of left field!) was holding a little roundtable discussion of some of their favorite travel bloggers (it doesn't say that in the article but I swear I have it on paper somewhere that they said the word favorite) last week (we're going for the most parenthetical references ever in a single sentence) and they asked ME (Me?). Me!

They asked me what I would do in the event of a solar flare that somehow crippled all my communication systems.  What I would really do is snuggle up to The Mister, because he gives comforting hugs, and write letters to my family by candlelight because I miss their lovely faces.

That isn't what I wrote though - I wrote of an alternate plan.

You can read my actual, sure-to-be-scintillating response here.

They let me write for them and that is pretty brave when you think about it

Around Malaga-050.jpg

I was excited when the guys over at Sketchee Creative asked me to write a guest post for them on photography.  So I did what anyone else would do - I said yes.

Hop on over and check it out here!

And if you're having a good day and you're feeling extra special nice, leave a comment for them so they invite me back sometime!

Why Creativity is Like a Bowling Ball

Morning over the desert

Someone else asked me to write on their blog today!  Check out my guest post on creativity and inspiration at Inspired to Write.  It's called Why Creativity is Like a Bowling Ball and there are all sorts of state secrets in there, so shhh.

A Few Things

Yesterday, I got my first ever paycheck for writing. It was for thirty one dollars and fifty three cents and I want to frame it. It's from Got2BeGreen.com, who I've written articles for throughout the past year. So yesterday was a banner day in the casa G-ski. I was excited!

*A note about the pictures*: I used to use stock photos for fun images on this blog, but from last week onward all the pics you see on here will be mine or The Mister's, unless I say otherwise. It makes me uncomfortable to have pictures of myself on my blog, because the act of even having a blog is seen by some as an uncontrollable act of narcissism, and to splash pictures on here of myself...well, you see where I'm going. But The Mister takes pictures just as often as I do, and he would like to have his pictures represented on the blog as well, and, well...he takes a lot of pictures of moi. So I'll brush past my own reticence, for his sake.

Check me out!

My friend Randy kindly asked me to write an article for his blog, Random Thoughts of a Photographer.

And I said, yes! (obviously).

So if you are so inclined, you may read the article here.

You Ask, I Deliver

A few weeks ago I wrote about my writer's block on coming up with an interesting article to write for Got2BGreen.com, which, (as I have gleefully repeated here ad nauseam), was named one of TIME's Best Blogs of 2009.

Anyway, you told me in the comments to write about traveling green(er) during the holiday season.

And I did. I DID!

Ask and ye shall get it eventually.

So, in case your enthusiasm hasn't wavered, you
may read my article here.

And thank you very much for letting me steal your brilliant ideas.

Check it Out

So some of you know that occasionally I blog over at Got2BGreen.com, which was named by TIME as one of the top 25 coolest blogs on the internet (serious business, this).

Anyway, I have a new article up there today, and they happen to like it when I get link clicks, Facebook links, comments, and all that jazz (go figure; it's not like they're trying to run a business or anything).

So I would be much obliged if you would check 'er out!
