Sunflower fields

The monastery we're staying in here in Castilla La Mancha is surrounded by sunflower fields - miles and miles of sunflower fields.

Enjoy.

Here you can see the pointed roof of the monastery in the background. Home sweet home.

  5. Sunflowers are among my very favorite flowers. I was fortunate to have received a nice bouquet for my birthday, and now whole field of them from you. Thank you, my friend; they're absolutely beautiful!

  12. Stunning! When I studied in Granada one summer of high school, I fell in love with the fields of sunflowers throughout Andalucía. My (American) teacher told me they were even more beautiful in the spring, so I vowed to return to Andalucía in the spring, but when I studied abroad last year and drove through the countryside, I saw none! I realize now they're throughout much of Spain, not just Andalucía, and it seems like summer is when they're actually in bloom. From what you've seen, is that true? I was misled for years!
