Kaze! (Welcome)

Hello all!

We've begun our blog here so that family and friends can follow along on our journey as we navigate our upcoming trip to Africa. Sarah and I will be spending the summer living and working in Bujumbura, the capital city of Burundi, which is just south of Rwanda in East Africa. While there, we will partnering with Amahoro Africa, which does indigenous leadership development in central Africa, and is led by our dear friends and favorite Burundian/American power couple, Claude and Kelley Nikondeha.

We'll be leaving in mid-May and staying until September. The first two weeks will be spent in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, where we will be attending the annual Amahoro Gathering, an event where Africans and Westerners alike are brought together for fellowship, connection, education, and worship. The relationships developed here are really the background for the work Amahoro does.

The remaining time will be spent primarily in Burundi with the Nikondehas, with trips to South Africa, Uganda, and Kenya sprinkled throughout. We are excited as can be, but also a little nervous since this is such a major life change!
Thanks for joining us and keep checking for updates!
